Welcome to Wisdom Council's Subtle Activism
CEN Living Values Project
Bringing Our Values Alive Personally,
Organizationally, and Globally
“It’s easy to agree with the values that CEN has put forth and, as we all know, it’s another thing to faithfully represent them in our actions. I appreciate the support The Living Value Project is giving me in living these values more consistently. I especially like the project's invitation to apprentice with each value for a month’s time, and to be in dialogue with others doing the same.”
Our CCCs are held on the 4th Thursday of the month, 4 - 5:30 pm PDT 7 - 8:30 pm EDT
The focus for our April 26th Community Conversation is the Value of
We choose holistic justice as our priority, pledging to uphold the rights of all without discrimination, to help foster a social and natural environment that supports fairness and dignity for all living beings.
Starting August 2017 and over the next 9 months we will be using the practice of Subtle Activism to focus on one of CEN’s Core Values each month. Our Call will consist of a Subtle Activism meditation allowing us to access our inner wisdom as well as to connect with the community in a cohesive energy field to expand our access to wisdom and tenets that relate to all life.
Our group meditation will be followed by a time of sharing the wisdom that has come to us and to dialogue about how we as conscious elders can bring each of the CEN values alive in our lives and how they serve the Conscious Elders Network organization’s Vision and Mission.
The core values of the Conscious Elders Network are found HERE.

The mission of the Wisdom Council is to align inner practices with outer actions. As Conscious Elders we are called upon to approach our activism and ground our actions in ways of being that are informed by and aligned with our values and principles and those of the organization we support
In the words of Gandhi “You must be the change you wish to create.”
We invite you to bring your generous and wise spirit and join us in these empowering, important and meaningful conversations where together we will make our CEN values more than words on a page.
What is Subtle Activism?
Subtle activism is the use of spiritual or consciousness-based practices for collective transformation; which distinguishes it from the usual focus of using spiritual practice for personal development. We’re not looking at this as a substitute for external action or the practical action that of course needs to happen in the world, but exploring nonetheless that this approach could form a crucial piece, a foundational piece in the shift that we need to make on the planet. – David Nicol
The Wisdom Council (WC) offers us all the opportunity to participate together using inner practices that link to our outer activism. Together we pay attention to our own experiences and allow those experiences to prompt our attention to what we want to transform. We grow deeper into our gifts of elderhood --patience, consciousness, and willingness to dwell in uncertainty and mystery. Then, with those gifts, we participate in contemplative practices that help us create a resonant field and send our collective energy out into the world where it is most needed.
